More Text Tutorials

By now you should be a "pro" at working on text. Here are the "tutorials" you should have completed.

Your example of the burning hole should have a background image. When I evaluate it I should be able to see all 4 layers. Do not merge it down.

After the fire effects it's a good idea to cool things down with a bit of "ICE"!

Ready for Halloween?

I need to see both variants of the "Runny" text. (or is it bloody?)

A great Sci-fi Show, and a cool effect.

Do you see a theme here?

Glass and Neon use two documents and "Calculations" to create a 3rd Image.

The cutout effect only works on light areas.

Do teachers still use chalk?

You need a shower!

It looks a bit like the flooring on the school staircases.

This effect must show perspective control.

Quick Silver

Make sure you post both variations of the outline effect. (colored background and photo background)

Must include reflection and gradient background.

Texture Tutorials

Photoshop has a steep learning curve. It can be a daunting task for a student to learn how to use this application. In order to make it easier, I've selected a series of "Text Effects" that will allow you to touch on many of the important parts of the program. As you become more fluent in the use of Photoshop's many tools, it will free you to be more creative. In the second half of the year these techniques will come in handy working on advertisements and package designs.

I will model each tutorial on the white board, or you can choose to read directly from a printed tutorial. Either way, you will find yourself fully immersed in the inner workings of Photoshop.

These are our first 6 tutorials.

We will start by using one of our textures to create a simple raised text with a drop shadow. It's onward and upward from there!
